I work in a variety of mediums, ranging from watercolours, gouache and pastels to oils and traditional printmaking techinques. I often develop my pieces further with scanning or photography, manipulating my work with digital 'collaging' techniques and various found objects and scanned textures.
As an artist I limit niether my palette nor my subject matter and I am deeply fascinated by the way art can stimulate strong emotional responses, inviting criticism, rejection, misrepresentation or misinterpretation, and as such some of my recent pieces attempt to appeal to the senses and emotions as well as the intellect, using figurative expressionism and autobiographical narrative, punctuated with metaphors and symbolism in the hope that through my working process I can invoke analysis, dialogue, debate and discussion of the human condition.
My illustration work has been published in Choice Magazine and I have produced work for a range of clients both private and commercial.
Commissions are available in pastels, charcoals, oils and watercolours. Portrait commissions by photograph are welcome and start from £40 for A3 size in pastel, Oils from £70. Fine Art commissions are also available, again in a range of media. Contact me to discuss details and prices.
